Partial Dentures

Partial dentures can be fixed or removable. Fixed partial dentures include traditional dental bridges (see Cosmetic Dentistry section) and implant supported bridges (see Implant Dentistry Section).

Removable partial dentures are held in place by several metal clasps and can be removed and re-inserted without professional assistance. The removable solution suffers from several disadvantages over the fixed alternatives. The most important one is functionality. A removable partial denture simply does not have the support and stability to allow for completely “normal” biting functionality. Additionally, the area without natural teeth will experience gradual bone resorbtion.

Taking care of your partial dentures may require more than simple cleaning. If not taken due care of, it might lose its proper shape, as they are quite fragile. If they get damaged in any way, it is best to consult us, as damaged partial dentures can cause irritation and sores. If your partial dentures no longer fit properly – or cracks, breaks, or become loose, we will help you make necessary adjustments to help bring comfort to you.
